I've seen threads where some of you said you got your G serviced and told them NOT to wash the car, yet they did anyway. Well now it happened to me, D*MN!!

I know it depends on what dealership, but how do they usually wash? Just spray and wipe or more detailed? It doesn't look that clean, so I'm guessing it wasn't anything thorough.

never let them wash your car. they do a sh!t job and make it look ten times worse than when it went in

Lokey has a car wash machine.

I always skip the wash, however.

I know Orlando Infiniti uses a car wash machine in the back of their service bays as well.

I typically see a magic bucket of suds and a terry cloth mit/towel that has been used on every car since the dealership opened. To add insult to injury, often the guy who is doing the wash is paid by the car, and not by the hour. These things combine to make for a less than ideal wash.

You might as well drive through the BP car wash. That's essentially what the local dealership uses, but in a smaller format.

The car wash is great for most customers, which is why they offer that service, but for car people like us, it's not a good thing.

I never let the stealership wash any of my cars! Example, my last car a '92 300ZXTT
was in for service and they had it for three days although it went in clean it now had
an inch of dust covering it. The service writer ask me if they could wash it for me and
I let them. About 45 minutes later I'm worried that my car wasn't ready so I walked
back to the wash rack........they had locked my keys in the car and had no way to
get them out. So I had to drive across town and get my wifes keys and then drive
back......40 minutes later I was back in my Z and I couldn't even see out my
windshield........terrible wash job. Never again!

I guess I'm only with a good story. I let them wash mine(Nalley Infiniti) and they use the drive through thing, but the guy dried it and even detailed everything and vaccum the inside and all. When I got the car back, I went over everything with the service guy again bc before it went in, I went over everything and made sure they knew that there no scratches or anything like that on the car.

What color is your G? I bet it isn't black ... any kind of wash that requires 'contact' would creates swirl marks, even if you hand wash it yourself ... it's just a matter how soon you would see it ... I hate the drive through machine the most since the quality of the 'spnner-clotch' is in question and it rotates so fast hence it increases the possibility of you getting more swirl marks... that's why I avoid BP or shell drive though machine...
It's good thing if your G is silver because you would hardly see the swirl marks but if yours is black, like mine, then you would definately see it after a while....let say after 10 times or 15 times max (under the sun at 12 pm).

I'm assuming your dealer did a quick detail (under 1 hours) so I don't consider that as real-detailing...

my dealer has a softcloth autowash behind their shop...they don't wash my car when
i tell them not to. I also have a DO NOT WASH sign i put on the dash.

plus the car goes in spotless so they don't think it needs a wash. lol

ive only taken it to the dealer twice for their 'signature' oil change, but
lately too lazy to take it in and just do it myself. i guess i'll have the
entire car looked over at 30k miles.
