The Texas Mile

The annual Texas Mile competetion started yesterday and continuse today!

Texas Mile is a 0 to one mile competition. All cars start from a stop and their miles per hour are measured at the point that they cross the 1 mile mark.

I have been following the progress of a 996 TT that was being built by Evoms. Yesterday, it ran a 221.3 on his first shakedown pass. They are not even close to max boost. That thing is an animal. 3300lbs plus driver. :scared07:

221.3mph is VERY fast. This car dynoed 919.7awhp Wednesday before it left for the track!

Also, congrats to John Hennessey who ran 190.6 mph in his 700 hp GTR and congrats to SW who ran 246.2 mph in his Supra.

Anything over 200 is hauling azz from a standing start in one mile!!

The P Car guy says his biggest problem now is he needs a chute...getting it stopped before he runs out of road.

wow, 200mph club is very hard to get into. Not a lot of exotics can touch that realm. Crazy Supra and P cars. Imagine the G force when the chute deployed, insane.

1) what the hell kind of tires are the supras using? that is amazing...:smileeek:
2) i don't think the structural rigidity of our g35 can handle that type of speed... :cry::sign42:

if they only made a 2x2 supra, that would be interesting... but then it wouldn't be a supra...

The turbo model comes stock with twins. Single is the conversion some do so the can run a lot bigger turbo to make the huge #'s they do. Heres a TT with a lot of work to give ya an idea of the setup

I didn't realize the original Supras were TT... all the Supras I've seen are big singles... I figured they did it because that's the natural configuration for a straight six... all the exhaust is on one side...
