i had no issues at all shooting friday but saturday night i broke out the strobes and went to go take some pictures of my car and after i got everything set up i turned on my camera and when i looked through the view finder everything was black. double checked to make sure i took the lens cap off LOL and then noticed the error flashing at me
i tried 3 different lens and still got the same thing. tried 2 different SD cards and still got the same thing. tried pulling the battery and still got the same thing. it did allow me to take 1 photo and the picture had large sparkly red, green, and blue "grains" over the whole picture.
i also tried a hard reset and nothing. after doing some research and talking to some people the verdict is in, fatal error to the shutter, the camera is dead and its cost more to fix it than its worth
the 1 picture it let me take....

my grandfather, the one that gave me all my lighting equipment, used to be a photographer and he feels my pain. he is buying me the d90
its weird cause my family doesnt buy each other stuff, their attitude is if you want something you get it yourself. i guess he understands my pain.

d90 is a nice camera. You'll love the low-light shot's you'll be able to take.
For me, I shoot with a Canon 5D. I may upgrade over the summer to a 5D mark II....maybe... I just wish either camera had better burst shooting....

I have an old 1D Mark II... It still works well... I'd like to get a newer version, but too expensive...

nah i know what it is, i have been expecting it. the camera had about 35,000 clicks on the shutter like a month ago. i talked to people that have had theirs fixed and it normally cost about 300 bucks. you can buy d50 bodies on CL for anywhere from 250-300 bucks, so its pretty much "totaled" lol

the new canon ti1 looks pretty promising. basically a split between the xsi and 50d but with video.

the HD video will be cool but it really wasnt a selling point for me.
i am kinda interested to see what it does with the sigma at 10mm! should be pretty cool.
