After you break in you G you may want to reset your ECU .[computer] When you are breaking in your car you drive it slow and your ECU learns the way you drive .So the ECU sets its self to a ..lets say...a mellow program .After you reset it you need to go out and drive it hard a few time , so it relearns a aggerisve program .This is also nessesary after you add mods...exhuast..headers..high flow cat...any mod that ads HP. You can reset it 2 ways. [1] is to disconect the negitive side of the battery for 12 hours . Be sure to roll down the windows first...a little or all the way ..makes no diff. just so you can open and close the door with out hurting the window. [2] Have to follow this closely and do it with a watch......Turn on the ignition switch to the on with out starting the car...now..push gas pedal to the floor and lift off all the way [5] times in [5] seconds..wait 7 seconds...then..gas pedal to the floor for [10] seconds..the ECU light should start to blink off and on....lift off the pedal all the way..wait [10] seconds...gas pedal to the floor again for more than [10] second...lift off the gas all the way.....turn off the switch This should reset the ECU and your aggressive program should restored...You should be able to tell when you get on the car. I added High flow cats..duel exhuast..and a cold air box with KN filter...and it seemed not to do any thing for it....except its louder...then I reset the ECU ...I was able to light the tires up [AT5] from a dead stop and get a real good churp when it shifted into second and it went to red line alot faster. If you have problems there is another post about it...ALONG ONE..at G35Driver.com.....

Very good info. I have several mods to my car yet I still have not done a reset. I think after my oil change this week I need to reset mine and drop by the shop for a dyno.

Seems like it would be pretty hard to get the series right for step 2. I know people have done it I bet I would mess it up.

I guess by now you have it memorized and do it once a week, huh?

I'll have to try that tomorrow. I've done no mods but I was easy on it during break in.

I noticed that my car did gain some pep back after the ECU reset. It's been feeling sluggish lately, so I just might reset it again soon.

I reset mine at least every 3 weeks via the 12 hour battery disconnect. I actually have it disconnected tonight for a reset, and will mess with my grounding wires tomorrow morning before I hook her back up :)

I think I'll try doing it without disconnecting the battery. I don't feel like resetting the all the radio stations.
